THE COLLEGE

Vikas College of Pharmaceutical Sciences was started in 2004 - 05 by VC Educational Society, Secunderabad to impart quality education to pharmacy students coming from rural areas and equip them with the necessary competencies to meet the growing global demands of the pharmaceutical industry, academia, research, and patient care areas.

The college is located at Rayanigudem, Suryapet district, rural South Telangana and situated on Hyderabad – Vijayawada National High Way No.65 and placed in 12 acres of lush green serene environment.

The college is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. The institution offers a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) followed by a Master’s degree in Pharmacy (M. Pharm) and Pharm. D (Doctor of Pharmacy) Programme (Six years course) and three-year Post Baccalaureate (P.B) course. The Pharm D students gain their practice exposure at Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital a 1050-bed multi- speciality tertiary care teaching hospital, Narketpally.

The aim of education is to build the character and total personality of the pupil. Vikas College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is aiming at offering value-based quality education to the students and nurturing their didactic learning and research tempo to meet the global health care demands. The college is envisaging innovative methods of teaching & research for students and committing itself to adopt best practices of teaching and research by conducting conferences, workshops, and guest lecturers in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice and also assists the students to prepare for GPAT and other competitive examinations. The college also fosters extracurricular

activities and supports learning life management skills by arranging lectures and workshops by eminent spiritual masters and personality development trainers. The College is committed to creating an environment for the overall development of the students.

Dr. K. Ramadas, a Journalist by profession who understand the needs of the society and with passion for Pharmacy Profession started the Pharmacy College in Suryapet with a vision to enable the rural students to get the best quality pharmacy education and serve the society as pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. His vision for pharmacy education enabled him to become the President, Telengana State Pharmacy College Managements Association and play vital role in programs organized by Pharmacy Council of India and Indian Association of Colleges of Pharmacies.
